Our additional services in details
An integral part of our translation processes is the use of translation assistance software (CAT) which enables us to build terminology databases and translation memories.
We provide these additional services to ensure high quality, shorter deadlines and cost savings for our clients.
Termbase building (Terminology database creation)
In order to provide our clients with the appropriate technical terminology and its consistent usage during our translation work, we build terminology databases (bilingual or even multilingual termbases) with the help of our translation assistance tools.
We can create termbases either from an already existing glossary sent by our customer or new databases, specialized for a sector or for a special type of product.
We regularly expand and maintain our existing termbases to ensure quality and consistency. The new terms entered in the termbases are always approved by our clients.
Translation memory building (Translation memory creation)
Our translation assistance tools enable us to store translated contents in a bilingual form and reuse them with or without modification. The database of these stored translated contents is called translation memory. The translation memories are sentence pair databases and their content is always approved by the client.
Translation memories allow us:

- streamlined translation processes
- better prices with regard to repetitions and pre-translations
Translation memory can be built not only while translating a document, but also from ready bilingual materials.
In this case, we need the source text and the corresponding target language text in order we can match the sentences in the source and target texts (so-called alignment) with the help of our CAT tools.
Desktop Publishing (DTP)
Lingua-Experts offers to convert documents, publications (e.g. brochures, advertising material, users’ manuals) created with different
desktop publishing software applications (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) We prepare these documents in editable format in order they can easily be imported into our translation assistance tools. When the translation is finished, we convert back the documents in their original format if requested.
This service has a separate fee and we offer it either as an additional one to a translation service or as a stand-alone service.
Audio and video transcription
Our translation agency offers transcription, localization and translation of audio texts and visual materials, including webinars, e-learning materials (online educational materials) and video files containing user’s guides.
Machine translation post-editing
Machine engines and not human translators are used for machine translation. Machine translation is mainly applied for documents with a high number of repetitions (e.g. technical documents).
Machine translation engines are based an artificial intelligence. The result of machine translation is not perfect, so it is necessary to involve a professional human translator to post-edit the translated text.
We offer two types of post-editing services: partial post-editing and complete post-editing.
We advise choosing partial post-editing if the document is meant for internal use and only for informational purposes.
If the document will be published, complete post-editing is the better choice.
When providing partial post-editing we correct superfluous or missing words, spelling and grammatical errors, mistranslations.
For complete post-editing, we also correct terminology errors, wrong sentence structures, style. The goal is the target text sounds natural and is clearly understandable for the target audience.
